Deadline for new registrations:
October 6, 2014

New Registrations

If you are not registered, you must do so 29 days prior to Election Day. To register or change your party, please use the Florida Voter Registration Application and deliver or mail it to the Elections Office by the deadline: October 6, 2014.

 

Offices On The Ballot

Offices up for election during a gubernatorial election cycle include U.S. Representative, the Governor and Cabinet, State Representative, State Senator, District Court of Appeals, Circuit Judge, Board of County Commissioners, School Board and other county and local offices.

This is the first year City Council offices for the City of Palm Coast will appear on the countywide ballot. Palm Coast voters will choose their new representatives in City government during this election. Resident voters of Grand Haven will decide a race for Board of Supervisors, Seat 5 in the Grand Haven Community Development District.

All voters in the state of Florida will be approving or rejecting three (3) proposed Constitutional Amendments on the General Election ballot this year. Closed Primary Election

The gubernatorial election cycle begins with a Primary Election in August of 2014. Florida is a closed primary state, which means the selection of a party's candidate in a Primary Election is limited to registered members of that party. If you wish to vote in a partisan Primary Election, you must be a registered voter in the party for which the primary is being held. Party changes must be made 29 days before the Primary Election, which is July 28, 2014. All registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote on issues and nonpartisan candidates in a primary election. 

Candidate Qualifying

Candidate qualifying has ended for the 2014 elections. While the cities set their own qualifying periods for independent municipal elections, the qualifying period for other offices are subject to state law. The qualifying period is the time when you must finish qualification for ballot position. Any candidates who is seeking public office must file with the appropriate qualifying officer. City candidates must file with their City Clerk. County candidates file with the Supervisor of Elections. State and Federal candidates must file with the Department of State, Division of Elections.
