Flagler County recently opened its doors to a new generation of future public servants during its annual Bring Your Kid to Work Day—and the result was a day full of energy, learning, and hands-on fun.

Departments from across the county came together to create an engaging experience for employees’ children, offering interactive booths and activities that highlighted the important work being done every day. From the Tax Collector’s office to the Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office, and Clerk of Courts, each department found creative ways to connect with kids and give them a behind-the-scenes look at public service.

At the Supervisor of Elections office, the focus was on one of the most important parts of civic life: voting. Kids had the chance to participate in their very own election, learning how the process works in a fun and approachable way. And the ballot? It was designed with their interests in mind.

What do MrBeast, Spider-Man, Roblox, and A Minecraft Movie have in common? They were all on the ballot—and after votes were cast and counted, these fan favorites rose to the top during Bring Your Kid to Work Day 2026.

In total, 121 future voters proudly participated in this year’s election, getting a firsthand experience of casting a ballot and seeing democracy in action. The excitement at the booth made it clear: civic engagement can start at any age when it’s presented in a way that’s both fun and meaningful.

Events like this not only strengthen connections within the workplace but also inspire the next generation to understand and appreciate the role of local government. By turning learning into an interactive experience, Flagler County continues to build a foundation for informed and engaged citizens.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped organize and participate in this memorable day.
