College Student Voters
If you are living in Flagler County to attend a college or university, you have two choices when registering to vote. You can register and vote here, or register and vote in your home county.
Where Should I Register to Vote?
Register in Flagler County
As long as you live in Flagler County, you can register to vote here, even if you still use your home address for other documents or pay out-of-state tuition. You can then vote in-person here or request a Vote-by-Mail ballot from our office. In addition to federal and state races, your ballot will include local races for Flagler County.
Register in your Home County
If you moved to Flagler County for school but still have a residence in another Florida county, you can register in your home county or keep your current registration there. In addition to federal and state races, your ballot will include local races for your home county. Use your home county address as your residential address and your Flagler County address as your mailing address. How Do I Register?
If you are a Florida Resident, visit RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov to register to vote or to update your registration. You can also visit our Voter Registration page for additional ways to register to vote, or visit our Update My Registration page for additional ways to update your existing Florida voter registration.
When you use RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov to register, the online system will ask you to enter your residence address using a lookup tool. If you cannot find your address using the lookup tool, click on the “address not found” button and enter your address manually. Our staff will then review your application and can clean up any address issues.
If you are not a Florida resident and you are registered to vote out of state, contact your home state’s elections office for information on registration and voting.
Deadline to Register
You can register to vote at any time. However, to vote in a Florida election you must be registered 29 days before that election. Your application must be completed online, postmarked (if sent by mail), or received in our office or at an authorized government office (if done in person), by the deadline. If you wish to change your party affiliation before a primary election, you must make the change at least 29 days before that election.
Deadline to Move Registration
As long as you are already registered in Florida, there is no deadline to change your address. You can update your registration from another Florida County to Flagler County at any time, up to and including Election Day.
We recommend that you update your registration to Flagler before you go to vote. However, it is possible to update your address at an Early Voting site or Election Day polling place and then vote. On Election Day, you will need to be at the correct polling place for your new address in order to cast a ballot. Know before you go! Update your voter registration today.
Check to See if I'm Registered
If you think you may be registered in another county in Florida, visit RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov and click "Am I Already Registered?" If you are not registered or if the information is outdated, you can use that website to register to vote or update your voter information.
I Registered - What Happens Now?
We will mail you a voter information card. If you do not receive the card within two weeks, contact us to make sure we have your correct information.
How Do I Vote?
Your voting options depend on if you are a Flagler County resident or if you are a resident or another location.
Flagler County Resident
If you are registered to vote in Flagler County, you have three ways to vote:
Vote-By-Mail

Early Voting
Early voting is available before each election. There are several early voting sites in Flagler County. Visit our Early Voting page for more information.
Voting On Election Day
On Election Day you must vote at your assigned polling place in Flagler County. For more information, visit our Election Day Voting page.
Resident of Another County or State
If you are registered in another county or state, contact your home county's elections office and request a Vote-By-Mail ballot be mailed to your mailing address in Flagler County. After you complete your ballot, you must return it to your home county's elections office. Alternatively, you can vote in-person in your home county, but you will need to travel there.
